The Best Way to Put on Foundation
by: Beauty Mama
The best way to put on foundation is with your fingers so that do not put on too much, but that is pretty messy.

Whether finger or sponge, apply foundation sparingly, with dots on one side of the face first. Blend well with makeup sponge or fingers, working from the top of the face downward, to create a smooth, even finish. Repeat the same procedure on the other side of the face.

Remember to blend along face line to avoid the mime or clown face look. Remember to blend along jawline, into the hairline, on the ear lobes. Pay special attention to the corners of the nose, corners of the mouth, over and under the eyes. If you need to retouch a particular spot, re-apply lightly and blend.

For the most finished look, you need to set the foundation. The foundation is "set" by a light dusting of powder. Lightly powder with a translucent powder (a cornsilk is god for oily skin) to set your foundation.
